New Line Learning Academies, UK
Context:
New Line Learning Academies (NLL) based in Kent in the UK serves 2500 students. The academy provides an excellent blueprint of how to develop new systems and processes when schools are merged. One of the most important aspects of change at NLL was keeping students at the heart of the transformation/change process.
Innovation summary:
In the process of transformation, the academy changed three areas to support the process
of educational transformation: space, technology and the curriculum. While it's true to say
that teaching and learning is at the center of transformation, it's equally clear that pushing forward the other two elements-space and technology-maintains momentum by making it difficult for teachers and students to resist a change of pedagogy. This is at the heart of transformation at NNL.
